Why Criminal PSycology

The study of the criminal mind and what motivates humanity to result to criminal conduct is an amazing source of facination to me. I have read criminals become criminals because of their past experience, child abuse, neglect, or hereditary traights. One thing I seldom read of is what if they simply made a cognizant decision to become criminals because they either enjoy it or just do not want to work or conform to societies norms?

Meaning: What if money, power and a desire to be criminals motivated them to become criminals?
